Welcome to the NSW Rabbit Association!

In April 1988, a small group of rabbit enthusiasts in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley district banded together to form The Hunter Valley Rabbit Association.  A short time later, in June 1988, the name was changed to The New South Wales Rabbit Association.

Our aims are to foster the breeding and showing of purebred rabbits under the rules and standards of The Australian National Rabbit Council , to which we are affiliated. Our members can provide advice on all aspects of rabbit care, breeding and showing to both pet owners and novice members alike.

The club has previously held displays at shopping centres and visited nursing homes as a part of pet therapy. In March 2011, we were invited by the Newcastle A.P.H.&I. to participate in the Newcastle Regional Show by assisting them to organise the inaugural Rabbit Show.

Shows are held regularly at the Belmont Senior Citizens Centre, Glover Street, Belmont, and members of the public are always welcome to come and view an impressive array of rabbits  of many different breeds. New members are always welcome.
